The following provides an outline for Brown’s Run dress code requirements.
Dresses, slacks, skirts or shorts of at least 16 inches in length are considered proper attire. Shirts with collars and golf-specific sleeveless and collarless shirts are appropriate. Unsuitable attire includes halter-tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, bathing suits, sweat pants, blue jeans, tennis dresses, athletic shorts, cut-offs or short shorts.
Shirts with collars and sleeves, slacks or Bermuda shorts (16 inches in length) are considered appropriate attire. Tank Tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cutoffs, sweat pants, warm-up suits, blue jeans, bathing suits, tennis shorts, short shorts or other athletic shorts are NOT PERMITTED on the golf course. Mock Turtle Neck shirt will now be considered proper attire. A mock turtle neck is a shirt without a traditional collar, but differs from a tee-shirt in the following way: the band around the neck is snug fitting and is at least 1¼” wide and made of a material that is consistent with a traditional golf shirt.
Brown’s Run Country Club is a SOFT SPIKES FACILITY. Spiked golf shoes are not permitted. Other acceptable footwear includes teaching shoes and tennis shoes.
The requirement for proper golf attire extends to the use of the driving range or putting green as well.
Defining what is appropriate is difficult to legislate but all members and guests should be properly dressed at all times on the golf course or at the practice areas. Our professional staff has been instructed to see that these rules are followed.
Other attire that is not appropriate includes but is not limited to:
- Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
- Excessively torn clothing
We hope our members and guests will adhere to our dress code of their own choice, but we do reserve the right to refuse play in the event of inappropriate attire.
